### Tools and Materials Needed:
1. **TNC Female Bulkhead Connector**
2. **LMR 100 Coaxial Cable**
3. **Cable Stripping Tool** (suitable for LMR 100 cable)
4. **Crimping Tool** (if required for any crimp components)
5. **Heat Shrink Tubing** (optional, for additional insulation)
6. **Reducing Adapter** (if needed, depending on the size or type of connector)

### Steps to Attach a TNC Female Bulkhead Connector to LMR 100 Cable:

1. **Prepare the Cable**:
– **Strip the Outer Jacket**: Use a cable stripping tool to remove about 1 inch (or as specified by the connector manufacturer) of the outer jacket from the LMR 100 cable. Be careful not to damage the underlying braided shield.
– **Expose the Shielding**: Pull back the braided shield to reveal the dielectric insulation. Trim any excess shielding so that it fits neatly inside the connector.
– **Strip the Dielectric**: Strip the dielectric insulation to expose the center conductor. The length of exposed center conductor should be approximately 1/4 inch, but refer to the connector’s specifications if available.

2. **Prepare the Connector**:
– **Check the Reducing Adapter**: If you are using a reducing adapter, ensure it is compatible with both the TNC female bulkhead connector and the LMR 100 cable. The reducing adapter might be necessary if the connector or cable sizes do not match directly.
– **Slide on the Ferrule or Sleeve**: If the TNC female connector has a separate ferrule or sleeve, slide it onto the cable before inserting the cable into the connector.

3. **Insert the Cable**:
– **Insert the Prepared Cable**: Insert the stripped end of the LMR 100 cable into the TNC female bulkhead connector. Ensure that the center conductor aligns with the center pin of the connector and that the shield fits properly against the ferrule or sleeve.

4. **Secure the Connection**:
– **Clamp or Crimp the Connector**:
– **If Clamping**: Use a wrench or pliers to tighten the clamp or ferrule around the cable, securing the connector to the cable. Ensure the clamp is tightened evenly to avoid gaps or uneven pressure.
– **If Crimping**: Use a crimping tool to crimp the ferrule or sleeve around the braided shield, and crimp the center pin onto the center conductor of the cable. Ensure the center conductor is fully inserted into the pin before crimping.

5. **Assemble and Insulate** (Optional):
– **Apply Heat Shrink Tubing**: For additional insulation and strain relief, slide heat shrink tubing over the joint and apply heat to shrink it tightly around the connector and cable.
– **Inspect the Assembly**: Check that the connector is securely attached, the clamp or crimp is properly done, and there are no loose parts. Ensure that the center conductor and shield are properly connected.

6. **Install the Connector**:
– **Mount the Bulkhead Connector**: If the TNC female connector is a bulkhead type, install it into the panel or chassis as required. Secure it with any provided nuts or hardware.

7. **Test the Connection**:
– **Verify Connections**: Ensure that the connector is firmly attached and that there are no loose parts.
– **Test Signal**: Use appropriate testing equipment to verify that the connection is functioning correctly and that there are no signal issues.
