### Steps to Crimp a UHF Male Right-Angle Connector onto LMR 200 Cable:
1. **Prepare the Cable**:
– **Strip the Outer Jacket**: Use the cable stripping tool to remove about 1.5 to 2 inches of the outer jacket from the LMR 200 cable, exposing the braided shielding underneath.
– **Expose the Shielding**: Pull back the braided shield to expose the dielectric insulation beneath it.
– **Strip the Dielectric**: Carefully strip the dielectric insulation to expose the center conductor. Avoid nicking or damaging the center conductor.
2. **Prepare the Connector**:
– **Slide on the Ferrule**: Before attaching the connector parts, slide the metal ferrule (sleeve) onto the cable. This ferrule will be crimped onto the braided shield later.
– **Insert the Cable into the Connector**: Carefully insert the cable into the UHF right-angle connector, making sure the center conductor fits into the pin of the connector, and the shield aligns with the ferrule.
3. **Crimp the Connector**:
– **Crimp the Ferrule**: Use the crimping tool to crimp the ferrule onto the braided shield. This secures the shield to the connector and ensures good electrical contact.
– **Crimp the Center Pin**: Use the crimping tool to crimp the center pin onto the center conductor of the cable. Make sure the center conductor is properly inserted into the pin and crimped securely.
4. **Check the Assembly**:
– **Inspect the Connection**: Ensure the connector is firmly attached, and there are no loose parts. The center pin should be well-aligned, and the shield should be securely crimped.
– **Test the Connection**: Optionally, test the connection for continuity and signal integrity to ensure it’s working correctly.
